TN Visa Worker Wins Court Case Over Licensing Law

In Kirk v. NYSDE, a case brought by a Canadian citizen working in the U.S. as a Veterinarian under TN visa status, a federal district court held that a N.Y. law, which restricted veterinarian licenses to U.S. citizens and permanent residents, violated the U.S. Constitution's Equal Protection Clause. The court also held that this law conflicted with NAFTA, and therefore violated the Constitution's Supremecy Clause.
