What Happens to Current TN Visas under the New USMCA?

Question: Will current TN visa permits be voided once the new NAFTA (USMCA) goes into effect on July 1, 2020?

Reply: TN visas and statuses issued prior to the effective date of the USMCA will remain valid, and will be continued to be governed by the applicable NAFTA rules in effect prior to USMCA. USMCA Implementation Act s. 503. Prior to the expiration date of those TN visa stamps and statuses, current TN visa workers will have to obtain new visa stamps (Mexican citizens - for continued travel authorization) and/or new I-94 records (Canadian & Mexican citizens - for continued work authorization) under the new USMCA rules.
